Tim Smith - October Student of the Month

Congratulations to Tim Smith, son of Mr. Joseph W. Smith III, Dr. Mona P. Chang, for being recognized as Loyalsock Township High School's Student of the Month for October, 2009. Nominated by the English department, Tim's academic accomplishments include being a member of the National Honor Society and a consistent member of the school's high honor roll for four years. His favorite subjects include Digital Studio Recording, Creative Writing, and le mort Francais.  Tim's college plans are to attend Belhaven, Houghton or Geneva College and major in Creative Writing.


Tim's extracurricular activities include Christian Club, French Club, Odyssey of the Mind, and One-Act plays: one of which was written by Tim entitled "The Dentist," which will be performed on November 19, 2009 at the high school.

Tim has also been active in the community, where he has performed piano at Elmcroft nursing home; served as an usher at New Life Presbyterian Church; and served meals to the homeless at Sojourner Truth.

His hobbies include games (card, board, and video), writing stories, taxidermy, and composing music.
