Key Club Raises Funds for Cause at LLWS
September 22, 2009
During the LLWS event in South Williamsport just recently, our Key Club was very instrumental in selling of Little League programs. On this particular day, Danielle Gansel and Emily Trautwein both worked several days at Little League. In total, the Key Club, advised and assisted by Miss Jennifer Beck, spent almost 80 hours raising money for Caitlin's Smiles. What an awesome contribution by a group of Loyalsock students! Their efforts here are an example of the many contributions both students and faculty/staff make to several worthwhile causes both nationally and locally each year.

Mr. Smith's AP English Class Published!
September 21, 2009
Wow. If you didn't have a chance to see today's Sun-Gazette, you must take a look. As part of their assignments in Mr. Smith's AP English class, twelfth grade students reacted to several of the themes taught in the course and successfully published their responses in the paper. It is so refreshing to see that today's young folks still have what it takes in order to approach today's world. Congrats to the class and to Mr. Smith on some very well-done work!

Clearly, Penn State's football team is on a roll. The past three weeks of play has unveiled a new generation of Lions. Perhaps you knew that Jamie VanFleet, a 2007 Loyalsock grad, is starting on kickoffs and punt returns. Many accounts suggest that he is making quite an impact. My son and I enjoyed a game and took in all of the sites. Of all the awesome traditions of a Penn State game day, my favorite is watching the team enter the stadium from their buses.
