Art Teacher retires after 36 years of service.

Mr. Paul T. Barrett has been an instructor for 36 years at Loyalsock Township School District, and during that time he has taught Art to every grade level from kindergarten through Senior High School. Mr. Barrett has served as curriculum coordinator for the Fine Arts Department for 15 years and had supervised 18 student teachers from various colleges and universities. He also served as summer arts & crafts recreation supervisor at Loyalsock Township for 26 years.
Mr. Barrett is retiring from teaching to create his own photography business and become a professional Artist. He is preparing for juried art shows so he can sell his unique photography both online and in the community. Although photography is his main artistic talent, Paul has also done instruction in other art mediums such as stained glass, basket weaving, ceramics, floral design, sculpture, drawing and painting. He has served on several regional juried art contests and facilitated workshops on photography and composition for the Shutterbugs Photo Club among other organizations.
Paul Barrett has a degree in Art Education from Mansfield University and a Master Equivalency in Fine Arts. He still teaches courses in Painting, Drawing and Photography at the Pennsylvania College of Technology and also works part time at Nevill’s Florist. He specializes in Fine Arts & Commercial Photography and is in the process of showcasing his work on his new website www.barrettphotocreations.com. He resides in Hughesville with his wife, Barbara and three cats. They share four adult children together.
