On February 8-11, sophomore Leah Nason, a violinist, attended PMEA District 8 Orchestra at South Williamsport High School. The festival brought together students from 22 different school districts. They were selected to participate through competitive auditions held at Williamsport High School in November. Guest conductor for the festival was Dr. Jeffrey Jacobsen, Director of Orchestral Activities and Opera at Mansfield University and Music Director of the Binghamton, New York Community Orchestra. While at the festival, Leah had another audition, where she placed third, which earned her the right to attend PMEA Regional Orchestra at Williamsport High School on March 22-24. Leah has played violin for many years and is the private student of Mr. David Lassiter. Leah plays electric violin in the Loyalsock Jazz Band and she plays clarinet in the Concert Band. Congratulations Leah on representing Loyalsock Twp. High School so well!
